BUT TODAY the gov't finally passed the bill to up minimum wage to 7.15 in 3 years. about time.

I know its 5.15 but it really depends on the area as well...
In Arlington everything starts from 8.50 and up... in NYC the same..
you can't live in NYC and get minimum... its nuts you'd live in a cardboard box then... ...
8.50 is the start and after 3 months you already get your first raise..
thats not bad...... me thinks.

8.50 is great. Unfortunately cost of living/pay rate is so imbalanced in most places these days that you could conceivably end up living in a cardboard box. It's $6.15 in MD, and the cost of living around here is up to the same level as the rest of suburbia DC, which is outrageously high.
