YAY! And the seats are damn good, though they should be for $50. So, who has seen them live, and what did you think? I expect very good things.

I've seen them live every year. I think it kicks ass (for a holiday rock concert). If you dig their cds, you'll love the live show. Lots of guitars, theatrics, etc... They especially kick when they do their "classical" section of the show (Beethoven's Last Night and new stuff). Last year Alex Skolnick was touring with them. He smoked...and Chris Caffery is actually a really good guitarist who likes to have a lot of fun during the shows. Have luxury box seats for the Philly show in Dec. Ought to be killer. They should tap WD to be one of the traveling vocalists!

...Chris Caffery is an awesome guitarist!!!

I'd love to see them dammit!

Saw them last year as well, and it was one of the most awesome fucking shows I've ever been to. I plan on going again this year. definitely prepare to be blown away

Awesome. I suspected an amazing show, and I'm glad to hear that suspicion confirmed. Now if only December 21st would hurry up and get here.

I'm going to see them this Friday, November 18, 2005 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY. I hope Skolnick is with them. I got all there C.D.'s for my fiance, Shannon, and they had a special on ABC called "THE GHOSTS OF CHRISTMAS EVE" that was pretty cool. Lookinf forward to a great experience.

Warrel would go nuts: None of the musicians are allowed to smoke, drink, or curse while the tour is going on. Paul O'Neill wants to keep the family-values-thing throughout the entire tour (which isn't a bad thing at all, but that's asking a lot for a rock n' roll musician).

On a different note, I miss Savatage. :(

expect the crowd to be 70 percent suburbanite families and 30 percent guys with mullets and denim savatage tour jackets and their hideous poofy-haired girlfriends.

I went to see them like 5-6 years ago...and it was only because my girlfriend at the time bought me the ticket. I also saw meatloaf storytellers with her.

So when you want to see something gay like meatloaf or TSO always go with your girlfriend so you can be like, "yeah, the little lady wanted to see this, what can you do."

Meatloaf Kicks ass!!!

"The Dark" is on TSO's Beethoven's Last Night CD. Jon Oliva's Pain is ok, but lacking the extra song structure's and songwriting that Paul O' and Chris Caffery bring to the mix. I'd like to hear another Savatage cd, but as they always say when it takes them a decade to put out new cds "TSO pays the bills.". I just wish Jon O would have more of a role in TSO. I think his demons keep him out of everything. Shame. He's a totally nice guy all the times we've met him. Talks and talks on a music and personal level to anyone who greets him.

The T.S.O. show was great. They played for 2 and 1/2 hours. Chris Caffery and Alex Skolnick on giutars, Jeff Plate on drums (over half of a Savatage reunion rght there), Bob Kinkel on keyboards, and David Z on Bass from Caffery's solo band. Mark Wood is like a "heavy metal violinist". He had a glow in the dark violin and bow. The first half of the show was the entire Christmas Eve and Other stories C.D. Their was an intermission where Caffery came out and introduced ther band, singers, narrator, orchestra, backup singers etc.. wearing a University Of Kentucky basketbal Jersey and the crowd ate it up (Rupp arena is where U.K. basketball is played). The second half was a medley of stuff that included a snippet of Zeppelin's "Rock N" Roll and some great interplay of classical music and rock between the guitarist and violinist Mark Wood. The ending was like KISS at Christmas with lazer lights, fake snow falling, flame pots, hydraulic platform that elevated behind the sound baord. etc.. The crowd was mainly older people, families and Savatage fans like me. I got many comments about my 1993 Edge Of Thorns t-shirt. I was surprised it still fit. They also sold beer and wine at $5 a cup (to my surprise).
