I've been crunching signals for Seti@home for a few years now with their screensaver client. Well, they have now purchased dedicated telescope time (on March 18th, 2003) to specifically revisit areas of the sky where strong candidate signals have been detected. These candidates were chosen from over 5 billion signals collected over the last few years, and evaluated by all of us SETI@home crunchers.
Will anything result from this? Who knows, but this helps bring us one step closer to answering the question - who else is out there in the universe, and where are they?
