Tonight I'm going to see Dream Theater live.
I've never heard much of their stuff, but it's so rare that a band like this comes to Taiwan, that I thought what the hell. Apparently a lot of the university students that bought early tickets fucked up their exam schedules, so I'm expecting some cheap scalped tickets at the gates.
There seems to be such mixed feelings on this board about this band. Anybody have anything to say about their live show?
I have to say I'm more looking forward to Metal Day on Saturday a the local live house. Apparently there's going to be a good mix of local metal, even a black metal band (I'll believe it when I hear it.)

Dream Theater is a very talented band, they play progressive metal. I don't like their music especially much and I have heard that they usually want to impress the audience with long solos on each instrument and that could be quite annoying. If you are a musician I think you will enjoy the consert but if you're just there for the music...
Download some song and hear for yourself, I would recomend "Pull Me Under", "Lie", and "Learning To Live".
