YES

The part right after that where he talks with his family is pretty badass as well. Good emotion.

yeah, really my only complaints of the album are the cheesy lyrics and the occasionally dragged out solos... esp in this dying soul
but thats minor
and no, i don't mind the "rapping"

hmm I've never heard Dream Theatre, I hear people talkign about them all the time but I never really got an album to listen to them, what do they sound like?

Cheers!

prog rock/metal
some of their material is very metal, some of it isn't
If you want to hear their stuff, i suggest you listen to something off of Awake, or the song "Pull Me Under"

for a sec i thought the title of this thread read "bong of the week"
but even if it did i couldn't do anything about it cuz i just pee'd:loco:

Check out the song "A Change of Seasons" yes, it is twenty odd something minutes long...

but if you can sit through the whole thing without getting disinterested or abhoring James LaBrie's voice, then you'll like the rest of the Dream Theater catalog

(btw, A Change of Seasons is, imo, their best song...a lot of the other fans agree on this as well)

James is at his best on A Change of Seasons. The song of the week for me would have to be The Tea Party-Psychopomp because I haven't been able to stop listening to it since I downloaded it in anticipation of receiving Transmission.

My current song of the week is Sigh - Requiem-Nostalgia

What a great band. This song flows very well, kinda symphonic. Theres a great guitar solo near the end, immediately followed by all the music stopping and one of the most random and odd noises comes in with some piano accompiment to end the cd. I'm not sure whether to laugh or be scared when I hear it.
