Yngwie Malmsteen's good advice : "America Needs No Change"

Hmm, well I of course can't comment on his derision of Sweden, but as the vid goes on he actually doesn't seem to be quite as big of a shithead as I always though ("quite" being the operative word though :D)

He clearly has no fuckin' idea of what Sweden is like today.
We are slowly turning in to America: We have to pay for healthcare, loosing allot of parts in our social security programs, public schools are loosing its track, but we still have to pay the same god damn taxes! >;(

Its not wrong to be REALLY rich in Sweden, but its almost impossible to become a "hobo" due to our social security.
We have loads of tv-channels and radio-channels(That play heavymetal.).
And if im going to go on my fathers stories(He's about as old as Yngwie.), they only had 2 tv-channels due to the technology reaching Europe so late(Early 70's.), and when it comes to metal, there was radiochannels that played it.
I mean, come on, Led Zeppelin had 4 albums in the top 10 at the same time.

But id still love to live in America(Even though i dont like how the healthcare/insurance works over there.).

While I can't comment on the Sweden situation, my hat goes off to Yngwie. He is a living example of the American dream.

I do agree with his comments on "change..." I also think they weren't meant to be so literal, considering we do have some problems that need to be worked out, but I think we know who he was alluding to.

I does seem unfair of him to comment on Sweden since it was so long since he lived here. And also, to really judge the situation of living in a country, being a rich fat rockstar is not something I think would give him a good perspective.

Like I said, I can't comment on Sweden because I do not live there, but the fact is he came to this country as a hungry musician and made it. He had to work his ass off to be where he is today. It's not as if he came here and was given a handout, etc. like the welfare grubbing assholes I see every day at my job. I think his view of this country is fair and justified.

He's just like Arnold, really - a European who lived the American dream through hard work and perseverance!

Haha, well since they were so prominent at the time, it's not like they gave him an unfair advantage! Seriously, after watching "Pumping Iron," you realize it was all his drive, charisma, and great intelligence that gained him his success!

The steroids were part of that scene. Arnold however was quite the salesman back in the day and I assume still is. He is the American dream though.

<-- Exhibit A.

wow, thats a refreshing perspective to hear (the video). most of our useless celebrities love to preen for the camera and spew the latest trendy taglines they read off the prius parked in front of them at trader joes.

to the post above, who thinks he doesnt have a good perspective, i would disagree. he's lived in diff parts of the world, seen other cultures and places, and is thankful for what he was able to acheive here. most of our hollywood activists are just spouting off the latest soundbite they heard and have no world perspective. like i really want take political advice from jessica alba, or sean penn, or random fill-in-the-blank teen star. save the fuckin speech at the awards show please. just thank your producers and engineers and get the fuck off the stage.

there are the exceptions.... angelina jolie def leads by example. i mean, how cool is that? she collects children from around the world the way some people collect stamps, or dolls... she just fuckin rocks
