"Blacklist" by Exodus, who is playing the leads and what type of rig is he using ??? Muter-Frigging awesome, tone and playing. Thanks

The album was produced by Andy Sneap so most likely it was Mesa's probbaly his trusty 94 Recto rackmount. Its kinda his staple. Could be a 5150 though ... i can find out for you.

The solo is Gary Holt, awsome album. Gimme a few days to find out about the amps

guitarguru777,
Thanks Dude .... Mesa ??? wow how the hell did it end up so tight on the lows ?
I hope its 5150 or my ears are deff. I really like the solo, its flashy but tastefull not wanky. I am actually interested in the entire set up from pups to stompboxes, cabs, speaker, tubes and mods. Really dig that guys tone, Thanks again man.

Ok ... i was totally off .... this is the official word from Andy himself

Grey ESP V with EMG HZ pickups and Marshall JCM800 modded by Tod Langner, 2 tracks of rythm

Ohhh ... the Cab was a 4x12 marshall with 75's miced with a 57

Thanks Dude,
Few follow ups, 57 is that industry famous mic model? I am moron when it comes to recording gear. And more on Tod Langner please if possible. So all the modulation stuff was added later on the mix, was it straight into the amp raw track ? Thanks a bunch.

Guitar > Amp > Cab > Mic Thanks about it...

As for the "57" Its a Sure SM-57 which is pretty much an industry standard on hte mic end since the 70s. There are new mic's I prefer over it, but it really depends on the situation.

Todd Langner was an amp-guru in the 80s. He worked with Marshall and knew the marshall tube amp designs like noone else. His most famous mod was an ADA-MP1 mad for the preamp to clean up the low end and add more gain.

He also did the same for marshall JCM800s which is most likely the mod Gary Holt had, Andy was not positive on WHICH mod it was but he knows it was modded.

Langer also did amps for Dino Cezares (Dinos Stolen JCM 900) and a plethora of other people n the 80s and early 90s. He was the go to guy.

Andy always recordsthe guitars DRY and adds effects later.
