Oooops, no you don't.

NSW Police are pushing for silence to be treated as an admission of guilt.

We need new number plates...
"NSW - The Police State"

This is long (and American) but it's an good insight as to how the cops will use pretty much anything you say against you. Especially the second half with the cop.

Now they are trying to make silence an admission of guilt.

i.e. if you talk, your words will be used against you. If you don't, then you are guilty, as if you weren't you'd talk.

A PERSON'S "right to remain silent" with impunity after being arrested will be effectively abolished under a police campaign to be taken to the next state election.

Instead of what a person says being used against them in a court, police say a person's refusal to speak should also be able to be used against them in some circumstances.
