People who throw around nouns like "socialist" as if they were epithets, yet can barely provide a comprehensive definition OF THE WORD, or detail the political/historical circumstances surrounding it. Fuck these people, seriously.

How better to sell people what they don't want than to convince them that what might be good for society as a whole is bad for the individual. And since everyone in America is a millionaire in waiting the only ones that need help are the losers.

It might be a more fair label if we had gotten a single new social program out of this administration.

Glenn Beck is one of the prime culprits. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that he is paid to call specific people "Marxist", "socialist", etc.

There are wealthy people out there who will do anything to avoid losing their power. And the best way to preserve their power is to discredit anyone who is a threat to their power. Hence, democratic leaders are all "socialist Marxists."

Unfortunately the people that listen to Glenn Beck obviously have limited reading and writing abilities. I doubt they would even understand that article.

The whole irony is that these ignorant people tend to be very friendly. I find that the people who think all democrats are communists tend to be really nice, warm people. Ignorance is bliss.

Here you go, this is an email from an 88 year old man I have known personally for a long time:

"The Reps can't use the outdated Communist so Socialist is the next best bet for them to scare their supporters.
FDR was labeled a Socialists when he pushed through many important bills such as SSA, uneployment insurance. FDIC to protect our money in banks; Tennessees Valley project that gave the bible belt and the south electricity and many new buildings nationwide, including Oakland's beautiful Court House, Library and Post Office and lets not forget government money built our two fantastic bridges. yes FDR was a true Socialists.
Truman would often say "Read history because it Repeats". Sadly Obama did not push his agenda like FDR but he still called a Socialist."

Next time you hear someone call a democrat leader a "socialist" be sure to remind them that if it weren't for our past "socialist" leaders, there would have been no FDIC and our economy would be in utter ruins right now. Thank the Lord these progressives had the foresight to install these public programs or there wouldn't even be a 1%. It would be a 0.0001%.
