Does anyone else think that this movie is one of the best comedies out there? I pulled this off the shelf and dusted it off tonight. I was laughing out loud. I forgot how great it was! Any favorite scenes/ lines?

I love the "Roll in ze hay" bit. But I gotta say, it's one of my least favorite of the Mel Brooks films I've seen. I like it, but it just doesn't make me guffaw like some of the others do.

The only Mel Brooks film that I actually hated, and I mean to the point where I walked out of the theater, was the remake of "The Producers". Simply and totally horrible. Nathan Lane is NO Zero!

They made The Producers into a broadway musical (yes, based on the original film) and then released the musical in film theaters. It's an outsanding musical and had me laughing so hard I cried tears of mirth.

I said I walked out on the FILM. The musical was a scream. But, sometimes, musicals do not translate into movies. The film remake of the musical was just not funny. Not like the original, which was drop dead funny.

Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, Blazing Saddles, History of the World... Mel Brooks = genius. I can't recall if I saw The Producers on film, but I did see it on stage (which was awesome).
