Good videos dude, I'm assuming you were using the mid-focus button in the mixed clip?

[gripe]
Other guitarist in my band uses one of these. Says he likes it for it's modern death metal sound. I noticed his tone was progressively getting shitter and shitter as he added in more and more useless pedals and made idiot tweaks to his EQ in an attempt to make it 'way more clear dude' (we're talking sonic maximizers and 1ms delay to 'thicken' the sound).

So last night at rehearsal he says to me "yeah dude I can't even hear my amp at all" when I ask him why he's turning it up past 6 on the master volume. Walked over, turned the volume back down to 3, hit the mid focus button, put the all the EQ and gain to noon, presence at 2 o'clock, channel 3. Turned off all his pedals, told him to play.

"Wow dude that sounds fucking awesome, what did you change?"

Yeah I did NOT use the ultra scooped knob, don't remember if it's open or focused.

Yeah... not a fan of how this came out. The top-end is a bit too grainy for my liking.

I mean, it's not really that I don't think it's a good tone, it's just that I've heard tones by you that I liked best. :)

Edit: Nevermind I read the comments and figured out you borrow some of them from friends lol Still I would kill to play some of those amps!

Ola, I love your videos, we watch them all the time here.
I was just wondering though, do you own all these amps, borrow them, or have some sort of endorsement agreements with these companies/youtube to review their amps?

I'd be pretty damn happy if I was you to be able to play with all these amps!

too scooped sounding for my taste. Maybe that'w why the engl cabs are so honky on the mids, so they can compensate for the head being so scooped.

Listening now on monitors rather than cans. Much more pleasant on these! I still don't like the grain/muddy saturation this amp has, and I do think the savage is better, but all the same it's no trainwreck, it's still a good tone by a good player. Heck, it's better than probably 90% of raws I've dealt with for mixing in the last 6 years.

I really hate this amp, but you made it sound pretty cool...

The problem with the Powerball are it´s users  I´ve seen a band a few weeks ago... I think the whole sneap board would have thrown up. Powerball, gain full, bass full. The guitarist played a seven string Ibanez tuned to Z. He used the neck pickup because it delivers "more bass" than the bridge pickup... and he´s searching a second bassist for the band to add even more bass. You can seriously not imagine how bad this was :erk:

Thanks for the comments guys, but I have to disagree about the muddyness. It's probably due to my playing. The Savage is better no doubt about it but still I think Engl makes awesome amps, counting in the Powerball. At least I think they suit my sound perfect.

Doesn't sound that great for this genre.
I think more post metal than 'tight' metal with this tone. For that I think it would sound epic
