Evergoing debate between diehard classic rock lovers...or the casual classic rock listener to choose who is their favorite between the two. Two of THE most influential bands to come out of the 70's in my opinion, and if I had to choose?

Id choose Zeppelin,
...mainly because watching "The Song Remains The Same" for the first time when I was 8yrs.old made me want to play guitar and eventually led me to become a metalhead.

Choose one or the other Fuckers!
(I love Floyd as well...but chose Zepp):headbang:

Damn! That's a hard one. I'm going to have to say Floyd. I love them both, but I've been listening to Pink Floyd much longer than Led Zeppelin. I'm not going to lie though; Zeppelin is right up there with Floyd.

Wasnt too long ago that I gave you some Zepp song recommendations...glad to see they're so high on your list already:kickass:

Yeah, I'll have to agree with you there. Ten Years Gone is indeed incredible. I'd have to say that I prefered the second disc over the first.

Zeppelin has many songs that most people never discover. The "loop", a Chicago classic rock station, only plays the hits by Zepp. Ex: Dyer Maker, Stairway, Whole Lotta Love, Ramble On etc. (songs Id be happy never hearing again)cause there are so many other songs that should be played. The radio sucks ass but thats another subject alltogether.
Few of my fav.trx: Ten Years Gone
The Wanton Song
In My Time of Dying
Rain Song
Thats The Way
Achilles Last Stand
Im Gonna Crawl
...there are TOO MANY!
but you will hear Zero of those on the radio.

Both for sure, but if I HAD to choose one over the other it would be Floyd. Favorite band ever, and "Echoes" is the greatest song ever made in my opinion. They both rule, and have both been extremely influential on myself and sooooo many other bands. Two of the greats.

Probably gonna get crucified for this post but it's a genuine question. What makes Pink Floyd so good? I love bands like Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, and Sir Lord Baltimore from the 70s, but for some reason when I listen to Pink Floyd I just can't get into it. Got any song recommendations that could help me see the light?

And to the topic question I'll go with zeppelin obviously.

everything Pink Floyd did from 1967 to 1977 is what makes them so great. especially Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, and Animals. they're obviously generally more mellow than the likes of Zeppelin and King Crimson, so if you want to hear something a bit more upbeat check out Animals

Take Seance's recommendation with Animals. It is way off the beat from everything else they've ever done...but in a good way. Songs like Dogs and Sheep are fucking stellar, so unique. If the "trippy and spaced out" sound of Dark Side turned you off (which I dont know how it could), try Animals, it shows the progressive rock side of Floyd.
....and Yes...Echoes might be THE best song from Floyd, especially the DVD Live in Pompeii version! OMG:worship:

I'd definately have to go for floyd. Ledzep built the world of rock how it is today, but floyd spawned tons of other genres inside and way outside of the rock scene.

It's like comparing marihuana to cocaine. 2 completely different effects but both enjoyable in their own way. Personally, I prefer a good ol' joint :)

hmmm your right...Floyd is definitely not cocaine because they dont leave you high and dry and wanting more after 20 minutes, they are INSTANT gratification!

Few of my fav Floyd songs would be:
Echoes
Dogs
Be Careful W/ that Axe Eugene
On the Turning Away

Floyd for me. I love Led Zep but Pink Floyd (to my sorry ears) go beyond them. If I had to make a choice between metal and Pink Floyd the latter would win every time.(I'm typing this as I listen to 'Rust in Peace' by Megadeth. One of the greatest metal albums of all time).
