I have recently sampled my friends ESP Ltd 5 string bass guitar. The seven round robin layers per note make the sampled instrument more realisitic. It's certainly not the best bass sampler out there but I find it to sound better then any of the free bass samplers I have tried so far. Here is a quick demo of the library:

If you have a sample player and want a free 5 string bass guitar sample library, you can download the samples here:

Have fun with it!

Hi! Good samples, thanks.
I created sfz file for sforzando sample player.

Just add the file to that sample folder, and that's it.

Just downloaded the sforzando sampler and checked out your file. Everything works fine. I do have 2 suggestions for possible improvements if you're interested:

1) Seems like the release time on the sample is very short. I experimented with my own sampler and figured that a release time of about 100 ms sounds most natural.
2) Overlapping midi notes are not played correctly. This is a bit of a problem if one for example wants to randomize the midi file to make it sound more natural

These are just suggestions. Of course you don't have to do anything. I'm already more than happy that someone made an sfz file for the sample library. But if those 2 things are fixed, I think the sample player would be very usable, even for unexperienced sforzando users like me

Hi!
Weird...Only problem I can recreate is overlapping notes. But I never have had problems with that, because Reaper doesn't overlap notes when humanizing midi. But if I move notes with mouse to overlap, then yes, it sounds bad.
Can't really do anything to that problem...(or I don't know how)

I don't have that short release time problem. Maybe there's some wrong settings in your sfz player, or midi notes too short,
or hidden CC messages doing something to volume/velocity?
I did use ampeg_release code, because some samples have some kind of click sound, and it fixed it.

Here's a version without that code:

If even this has the same problem, then I have no idea what to do...
I'm not an expert at all, just used sfz designer to quicly do this simple round robin sampler (random can be done too, it just takes a lot more time)
