I know they are out there. Curious which ones you like, especially the 'newer' bands. As opposed to the Floridian Death metal groups or... a number of the 80s/90s thrash metal groups (but feel free to list them if you want). I can't make an all inclusive list... as I really don't know many of the groups out there, nor necessarily know where they are from.

Some of the groups I'm enjoying are:

Mastodon (mainly due to the Leviathan album, which I really enjoyed... and heck they are Atlanta-area based.)

Divinity Destroyed (mentioned them before. love them.)

Empyrean Sky (very enjoyable)

Theocracy

Chastain (with Leather Leone singing)
Steel Prophet
Annihilator
Symphony X
Savatage
Anthrax

Was this supposed to be genre specific????

J-Dubya

I'm assuming you're looking for lesser known and newer bands as opposed to classic old stuff like Dio, Metallica (minus Lars), Megadeth, Queensryche, Dokken etc.

Here are a few of my favorites that haven't been mentioned yet.

Circle II Circle
Aftershok
Beyond Fear (Tim Owens)
Iced Earth
American Dog (Southern rock/metal)
Metal Church (old band/new lineup - kicks ass)
Dream Theater (except Canadian LaBrie)
Avian
Jag Panzer
Ion Vein
Seventh Key (melodic hard rock)
Outworld
Rob Rock
D.C. Cooper

I'm sure more will come to me

Enertia
Division
Twelfth Gate
Ion Vein
Antithesis
Dark Arena
Pharaoh
Prototype
Agent Steel
Reading Zero
Katagory V
Imagika
Dofka

there are many others that I know I'm forgetting... we certainly have a thriving (if very underground) metal scene.

I LOOOOVE TT Quick. Wish they'd get back together.

To add to the list: SUSPYRE!
Very talented, symphonic/melodic metal with some power elements.

Old school, but one of the most under-rated US metal bands IMO - Vicious Rumors.

Definitely!!!

Also:

Crimson Glory
Cage
Helstar
Obsession
Winter's Bane

'80s oriented but awesome...

Yes I had realized I had left Suspyre off a few minutes after I logged out of the forum.

And as far as TT Quick goes... I have been told that their guitarist is "born again" and as no interest in secular music any more.

How about another blast from the past. CITIES and XENON

AMBR, did you get to hear our cover of QUEEN OF THE REICH yet???
