I don't think it's only Maleficium wich has allusions to purple.. The only thing I can find out right now is a line in "When Gargoyles Fly": "Look above there you'll see the sign on the PURPLE colored sky..." I even think there's more in just the SOS album, but I can't fins out anything right now...
