I know Krusty is a ProgPower regular, but I don't know if he ever hangs out on the forum. I've liked Antithesis since the Beast of Man demo track that I have from '99. Both of the first discs kicked ass, but the new material blows them away. The old singer had a Zak Stevens sort of thing going...
Mike, Dave, and I saw them last night at Jaxx. It was freaking awesome. I'm pretty sure my mind is still on the club floor after that melting.
It was cool to see the rest of the technical local metal guys (though there were some noticeable absences). Thanks for all the questions...
and I think my mind is still melted. They were beyond awesome. I've never heard such technical music flow that well. Anybody else there that I missed seeing?

Go to the family of Michael Chrichton. We were big fans of his work. For me at least, he served the perfect service of a science-fiction author in explaining difficult concepts to people and getting the scientists to think about the implications of new research...
Mike, Dave, and I saw Farhad, Navid, Tanvir, and Brian rock out hard on Thursday opening for Sonata at their debut show. These guys kicked some ass. Check out their MySpace and look for Division to work with them in future.
...for the new Hatred disk. Tim and Joe have cobbled together 10-odd brutal tracks of death/thrash or thrash/death... They used a host of local talent for the rhythm parts. Watch for your's truly supplying some ripping bass on 4 of the tunes.

So, I've been letting my iPod run in "Shuffle Songs" mode all week. I've had some strange damn playlists, most of which made me freak out a bit, but yesterday was a pretty nice set:
Blind Guardian - Spread You Wings (Queen Cover)
Metallica - Overkill
Victor Wooten - Medley
Threshold -...
This image is a photo of the inside of an arch that marked the doorway from the great library of Ephesus to the long walk to the red-light district... How very appropriate.
It just goes to show how universal metal is!

... but I bought a 5-String Czech Spector yesterday. Pics posted soon. If I get the thing set up right, I might not look like a bass with a guy strapped to it at the next show.
to Rick Pierpont and family. They lost their father quite suddenly and unexpetedly last night. Our thoughts and prayers for you during your loss.
Peace,
