Opeth is a band you have to learn to love. I don't think someone who normally listen to, let's say Metallica or something, would hear White Cluster for the first time and go "wow, this song rocks". Another way which totaly worked for many people I know is by seeing them live.

Foo Fighters! not very gothic or metal, or dark for that matter, but Skin & Bones remains the best live DVD/CD.

The first few notes of the solo in Harvest, not the pre-solo melody, but the "drudidraadrudiludidraa". the intro and main riff in Heir Apparent, the heaviest shit out there. the fusion/funk part of The Lotus Eater, some may dislike it, I fuckin love it. the "DEMON, DEMON OF THE FALL"...

well as it is the "worst of opeth", and not the "bad parts of opeth", which still could mean it's really good, but still their worst. like in my list for example. I don't really dislike anything done by Opeth, but if there's something that is their best, then something must be their worst too.

I'll make my list. for the Watershed album, I dislike Hex Omega. that's it. Forest of October should have been on the Katatonia album Dance of December Souls instead.. Ending Credits sound like some flashy Joe Satriani song to me. I always skip Wreath when deliverance is spinning. same goes...
