Btw I think TT makes good products as well! Their UI is just better than anything else , It's straight to the point. Finally with latest releases they gave us some great sound. For example ezdrummer 2 sounds great out of the box even without expansions: fat and big. Before ez2 I hated the sound...

I have a 2ch dual recto myself, but I think it doesn't work when set on standby! Btw I never had any problem recording at loud volumes so I never tried putting it on standby and see if I can get some tones "silently"

I have a confirmation now why I hate so much my D6.... too much clicky no meat, maybe I miced always the wrong way, I always had to angled the mic, even at the resonance hole it sounds too "trebly" Definitely the beta91a wins! you cut the mids and you're done!

I guess we can keep the old stuff, like steven slate does with his plugins. Regarding the tone of stock plugins vs waves I guess is all about the harmonic distortions they introduce, an eq is an eq in the end, but the difference relies on that distortion.
