ethereallights is probably right when he says that if you didn't like The Stargate you probably wouldn't like his much older stuff. His first three albums in general consist of 2 long, drawn out 20 minute+ songs with neo-classical keyboard progressions. They are great albums in my opinion, and I listen to them all the time, but a lot of people think they are too repetitive or dull. Crypt of the Wizard is really when he started to shorten his songs down and add more wind melodies and such. Stargate is really his opus, and is my favorite Mortiis album, I think the songs are the best written and most imaginitive.
