The debut album from TrenchRot is coming Feb 18th (may be in stock at the Dark Descent shop sooner however). I'll post a preview track once the album is mastered. Layout is in process and this goes to press very soon. This beast will be 8 tracks of throwback death metal (think Asphyx, Hail of Bullets, Dismember, and Bolt Thrower as some points of reference), with their previous demo "Dragged Down to Hell" included as bonus tracks in case you missed the recent tape edition.

First preview track "Sickening Devotion." Think Asphyx, Dismember, Hail of Bullets and you're in the right area. This release sounds absolutely massive, befitting the warfare theme, and the lead work is unholy.

"Yes, TrenchRot embody ripping old-influence UK and Netherlands death metal, eating worlds and serenading in lead. Riffs and roars coalesce into a memorable maelstrom that showers your brain with the shards of their pure fucking steel. But there’s more. Brief but potent flashes of lead guitar brilliance appear and disappear amongst the sonic carnage, and hair-raising synths appear now and again to get you standing on your feet, ready to wage undead war. And then another not-often-discussed-but-very real element of Ashpyx and BT rears its head – that of uncheesy, headnodding deathgroove of the kind that will get the the gray-haired into the pit with murderous looks on their faces, ready to redden the nose of any arms-flailing karate-chopping juggalo who happens to find himself at the most-definitely wrong place at the wrong time. 'Trapped Under Treads', indeed. And yes, that is one of the coolest song titles you’ve ever heard, goddamnit."

"I feel as if Death Metal is one of those genres that simply needs a breath of new life from a past era. USA's TRENCHROT play the oldest of old-school death metal in its most pure, poser-less form, drawing mostly from European bands the likes of ASPHYX and BOLT THROWER; what they have created is an honorable homage to the great death metal of the waning of the 20th century, and gave it a slight revamp with modern recording equipment. Overproduced? Nay – exactly where death metal should be. Intelligible, but still raw and unrelentingly brutal."

"Straight off this is easily identifiable as Old-School Death Metal from these US bruisers. All of the trademark signatures are in place – fans of Obituary, Bolt Thrower and more modern war-themed bands like Hail of Bullets should feel right at home here. ...This is mainly, (but not always), mid-paced and takes no prisoners. The feeling of an endless battlefield covered in the corpses of countless forgotten enemies pervades this release, as does the feeling of belonging to an earlier age of Metal. This is Old-School to the core with an even Older-School album cover."

We are nearly sold out of shirts. If you want one and we no longer have your size, try the Dark Descent distro, or order one direct from the band. I'm also sending a small quantity to Europe later this month - will post details on that when it happens, for you overseas metalheads.
