So far the top album for me is Long Distance Calling's album Avoid the Light which features Jonas singing on its lone track with vocals. This album feels like a blend of Katatonia and Agalloch, and to me is an absolute gem.

I would also recommend not using any internet-speak on this forum if you plan to be taken seriously. Write out the full words, and write them correctly. Many of the most active members and best contributors are adults and moved on from that type of juvenile lingo a long time ago.

You're almost certainly among the miniscule percentage of Opeth fans who also like Staind. People will look for any reason to give others shit, and unfortunately you walked right into this one. I'd also agree with others that comparing Staind to Opeth is borderline insulting as an Opeth fan.

I think most of us are still unsure which troll(s), if any, we're feeding in this one.

Avril Lavigne - Sk8ter Boi

I just listened to the title track from that Insomium album you mentioned here, and I am really looking forward to hearing more from this band. Discovering new music makes my day.

Ulver's debut album Bergtatt features beautiful and seamless integrations of crushing electric and melodic acoustic. And if you're really into the folky acoustic stuff, definitely check out their album Kveldssanger.

On a crappy stereo (and even on most decent stereos) MAYH loses all effects for me because that wall of mud you're talking about is very difficult to decipher. But with a good pair of headphones it's my favorite Opeth album, because there is A LOT going on, and with every listen I pick up...
