Using Effects as Insert or Aux/Bus

are you kidding? automate the send level on the track you want the delay throw on. it's not rocket science.

    Building a website

no. the Wix site was my former website and was butt ugly since i didn't know a think about web design back than. this one is all manually coded/designed using PHP and Bootstrap. I made it about a year ago and i can't be bothered with maintaining it, i'll probably rewrite it using Ruby on Rails...

    Building a website

about 20% of all websites are based on Wordpress, and most of them are probably just as secure. Brand websites normally require only very minimal server interaction so i wouldn't worry about that either. If you don't have the budget to hire a professional go with a wordpress template, it's safe...

    Building a website

i was in your position a few years back and ended up creating my own website using wix.com which provides for a simple framework for building and designing a website. problem was since i didn't know a thing about web design back than it was ugly as fuck. in hindsight i should have just hired a...

    New Sylosis!

^ I got it. didn't manage to check it out though as the CD tray is occupied by the album playing on repeat :P anyone knows if they quad or double tracked, and what amp/s were used? I've always felt like they mainly double track except for maybe the thicker parts.

^ and the fact that they targeted journalists who published a charicature ridiculing Mohammed last week is extremely unlikely to be coincidental. I see your point not judging before the actual facts are clrear but in this case it's pretty obvious that the perpetrators were muslim...

I'm all for being positive but they were clearly brainwashed Muslim fundamentalist bro. you can deny the generalization of Islam just because of an extremist minority but denying their motive or origin is simply naive bro

So, got my first recording gig in years coming up......

the way you describe it it's really hard to define what you're doing as "flat-rate" as bands do have to pay extra eventually, but whatever floats your boat bro. i don't think that getting payed for professional work is in any way being a cunt IMO. some AEs go the extra mile to get paid as much...

So, got my first recording gig in years coming up......

I used to do the same, which is why i'll never EVER do it again. Mixing and mastering is one thing as the worst you'll get is an annoying client asking for an endless amount of revisions and formats. With recording though, what you'll more likely to end up doing is recording each take 10 times...

^ if they're friends they will understand and respect your offer, there is a difference between personal gain and professional work so don't worry about them looking at you all dodgy for doing your own bands album for free. After giving them a quote add something like "if it's too much for you...

So, got my first recording gig in years coming up......

NEVER work for free, and NEVER charge a flat-rate per song. It will backfire every single time, and will let the musicians walk all over you walking into the studio completely unprepared. Rates vary according to your location and currency. Try to sniff around to figure out what other studios are...

    Video monitoring

Good one. I was busting my balls over this quite a few times seeing as there is a substantial amount of CCTV camera models out there.

Just because it shows that in the picture doesn't mean you actually have to do it that way, or at least i never did. Those things are practically weightless and would stick easily to the top of the moongel (attaching it directly to the head may cause friction noise).
