RATE WHAT THE PERSON ABOVE IS LISTENING TO THREAD

6/10. I don't listen to instrumental much but this was a good one, it kept me interested for the first half of the song at least. Did get a little repetitive towards the end.

    Which Metal Sub-Genre Are You?

It gave me death metal--I don't like it. None of these things ever have an option for melodic death, that's what I listen to. I guess this was as close as it would get, but I don't like much straight-up death metal (cannibal corpse, death, etc.) because it lacks good composition and melody.

    Industrial Metal--specific

Those are interesting, but they're somehow missing something--I think it's a distinct tune. They have a nice dark atmosphere to them, but they don't have a solid tune to really get into--that's one of the things that makes Rammstein so good is the way they actually compose some very good tunes...

    Your go to angry song

I don't go to metal to displace my anger, I use metal to complement it. That said, I usually prefer some sort of black metal. This Watain song is good--it is unusual because it has something actually resembling a chorus, and to me that adds an immmense amount of power to the song. Also, Ov...

    Looking for aggressive Melodeath

Dark Tranquillity is my favorite melodeath of all time. They have a pretty aggressive sound, especially their albums Fiction and We Are The Void. Insomnium is also good melodeath, though their sound is pretty smooth and mellow--I use them to fall asleep to. Early Trivium might be exactly what...

    Industrial/Electronic Metal

They take a lot of crap from some people, but I would say Rammstein shows off the things I like best about Industrial metal. Their tunes are simple, but it's the amazing composition that makes them fun to listen to--they are able to give off that dark, plodding vibe better than anything else...

    Obscure Finnish Death Metal

I don't know how obscure they are, but Insomnium and Swallow the Sun are some of my favorites. Down with the Sun and Drawn to Black by Insomnium are some of the best melodic-death pieces I have heard, and I'm a melodeath fan in general. Swallow the Sun is a sort of doom-melodeath hybrid, and...

    Industrial Metal--specific

I am looking for a specific type of industrial metal--I am coming here only after extensively searching youtube and last.fm without finding anything good. What I am looking for is music with slow, distorted but distinct guitar, with very dark, excellently composed tunes. The song that best...
