    Ted LIVE (video)

That is amazing. Really shows off how great of a voice Ted has. Pitch, vibrato, phrasing, tone....it was all perfect. God I wish I could sing.

    Any Porcupine Tree fans?

Saying PT is UK's answer to Collective Soul is a huge stretch (IMO). I am a fan of C Soul but less of one now, than before. They are doing nothing to "progress" from there typical 3 min 20 sec pop song. It just riff, verse, then big chorus. PT's writing is waaay more ambitious (though quite...

Anyone know how to differentiate between the new DVDs and the bad ones?

Don't get me wrong. If what I got is the latest and greatest, then I'm happy. As I've said before, I've never seen the band, so seeing this DVD is great.

Anyone know how to differentiate between the new DVDs and the bad ones?

I'll have to verify this weekend, but if memory serves correctly, a part that really sticks out is in the middle of "Paint the Picture" right after the guitar solo where there is a close up of Ted doing some strums through his Piezo pickups (Acoustic Gtr. sound). It is WAY out of sync.

Anyone know how to differentiate between the new DVDs and the bad ones?

There are definitely some funky spots in the one I got and it has a 2004 copyright. I would have expected a 2005 release to have a 2005 copyright. I got mine from Barnesandnoble.com.

    DVD Video Quality?

I just got mine. While it's great to see the band live finally, I do think I got a bad one too (from Barnes and Noble on-line). Mine has a copyright date of 2004. Shouldn't the new ones be 2005?? Can anyone confirm this? I still want to say to the band, good job on the DVD. Definitely...

The "Offical" story on the DVD sound issue

No offense, but I think you are either being naive or you have your "Dream Theater Rules" blinders on. It ain't a sticky now is it. If you happen to buy a copy in the past couple weeks you'd have to hunt through both dreamtheat.net and portnoy.com for information. And, I think you'll see, at...

The "Offical" story on the DVD sound issue

Not being a kiss-ass here but thanks to Doug and Insidide Out for doing the right thing. Doug, I'm really sorry this happened. But at least you all are not handling the way your peers Dream Theater/Elektra are handling their new DVD. There are major Surround sound issues with their release...

    BillyJ & Hockey

I just realized I think I was thinking of Akai. I think they had R&D in Aptos. I had a friend that was there. To me the bigger surprise in Portland was the amount of live music. Well that and the near 1 strip joint per every square mile (Hence my calling it Pornland). Anyhoo, I'll let...

    BillyJ & Hockey

Walsh. That was his name. He was on your team. Now that guy irritated us on the ice. I moved to Pornland for affordable housing and a job transfer. Speaking of jobs. This could get even stranger. How long have your worked for Korg? Did you work in their R&D office just outside of...

    BillyJ & Hockey

Haa!! Too Funny! The Vipers with the good 'ol V on the jersey. I either recognize you becasue perhaps your name was on the back of your jersey or I recognized your face. I was on the Hawks. As I recall there were some great rivalries with about 4 teams that seemed to stick together for a...

    BillyJ & Hockey

Hey Bill, I assumed by your Bio that you play Hockey. Did you by chance play in a league in Fremont say 5-6 years ago?? Brian

Dream Theater - Train Of Thought

Wait a second. Ed, I didn't take offense to this statement as I could give a rat's ass about these two bands, but are you the guy who has been say something to the effect that constructive criticism is okay but malicious statements are uncalled for?? Besides, the biggest piece of s*?t album...

    Enchant plugged by Meniketti

In response to a "Spock's Beard in Oakland" topic over at Meniketti.com, Dave himself made a point to bring up Enchant. It was regarding the recording of part of Tug of War in his studio. I believe his quote was "Great Band" and "that drummer is one hell of a player".
