blending amps for the same DI (Bi-Amping)

I would say the Rev1 sounds more like a "small grain" amp.

Bass strings for stupid low tunings...

http://circlekstrings.com/store/index.html Circle K has any gauge bass string you would ever need. They have all the way up to a .254

    Fuck 6 string basses

How so? I play a 6 string fretless bass, and I find myself using all the strings but the highest (tuned to AEADGC) pretty frequently. I could definitely do without the extra high string, and I wouldn't mind going even a string LOWER. If guitars keep getting lower and lower, what do you expect us...

blending amps for the same DI (Bi-Amping)

I agree with the less saturation. The saturated sound kinda drowns out the larger-grain chunkiness of the 2203. I have a theory about this that I am soon planning to implement into handmade guitar amps. It basically has to do with the way an amp clips, and using parallel gain stages to blend...

guess the amp...also, if you don't like this tone you're gay

I was gonna say a boosted JCM800 or a modded one (since I knew you had one). Sounds good man, not my personal taste but very nice and chunky. I'd imagine blending it with a more saturated amp like an Uberschall or 5150 would sound quite nice.

Well, just pulled the trigger on this ...

The forum they were posted on has gone through multiple cleanups and the posts likely aren't there anymore. Lurch's V was exactly like the Vixen. My design (at least the whole premise of it) is oddly similar to the Diva. Don't confuse the two. I'm not saying he definitely ripped off MY...

Well, just pulled the trigger on this ...

Bernie Rico Jr. is a scumbag. The Vixen was designed by a man who goes by "Lurch" on forums (his real name slips my mind at the moment). He had originally drawn it up on a napkin as a design for Pat O'Brien of Cannibal Corpse, and posted the design on forums to see what kind of interest it would...

Hardware 1176 vs Distressor Bass shoot-out

I voted for 3, even though I'm in an office and can't play it loud. 3 just seemed to blend with the kick better and it sounded like it hit harder.

Do you use neck pups for high gain sounds? (leads or rhythm)

Like others have said, the sound has nothing to do with pickup type. The closer the pickup gets to the center of the strings (eg. 12th fret), the more of the fundamental note you hear. The closer to the bridge a pickup is, the more harmonics you hear. Same goes for picking. This explains why...

    Can you hear harmonics?

I don't mean to ask this question in a traditional sense, because of course everyone can hear harmonics. What I mean is, can you hear a sound, and specifically pick out the separate harmonics within the sound? I ask because at some point, I became able to do this. I'm not trying to claim to have...

Peavey 6505 not equal Peavey 6505? // samples inside

I'm sorry, but why would you assume that there is something wrong with your amp? You've had modifications done, of course it sounds different from a completely stock amp...

5150 Sounds like Chewbacca taking a Shit. HELP!

Nah I'm more into stuff like the Uberschall, Mesa Mark Series, Diezels, etc...The SLO100 sounds better than either the 5150 or Dual Recto to me, its just more "crisp" sounding.

5150 Sounds like Chewbacca taking a Shit. HELP!

Haha, I expected to get some shit for that comment anyways. I'm just not a fan of them. I don't fancy Dual Rectos too much either. I suppose I am just tired of hearing them.

5150 Sounds like Chewbacca taking a Shit. HELP!

Sneap mixes sound very generic to me. I don't hate them, just not my taste. I'm here because 98% of the "Equipment" forum has NOTHING to do with Sneap.

5150 Sounds like Chewbacca taking a Shit. HELP!

Not even close to what I was talking about, but nice try, bucko. Well at least YOU actually know what you're talking about (besides calling me an idiot). I just took what you said as you trying to say that 5150s were biased hot.
