I remember trying the Jazz III for the first time. Playing leads two times faster in an instant felt pretty mindblowing :) On the downside they just feel absolutely aweful and inappropriate to me when playing just about every style of rythm. Been a purple toltex user ever since.

If you're really keen on finding out, you might wanna toy around with the Revalver III demo where you have the possibility to change the tubes/tube characteristics in the amp simulations. Some changes make for pretty audible differences in tone. I replaced the tubes (el34) in my old JCM 800 once...
