I just routed input 1 to go straight to my outputs, and I didn't hear the static. I'm pretty sure my problem has something to do with Cubase. Anyone have any idea as to what might be causing it?

I'm not sure, didn't even think about that. I'll have to try it in a different room/house and see if it still has the same problem.

it's kind of quiet, but it really effects my amp sims, especially any long chugs. I've tried 3 different guitars, and 2 different cables all with the same problem so i'm pretty sure it's the interface.

yup, i've also tried input 2 to make sure it wasn't some sort of problem with the input itself or the inst button.

oh ok, thanks for the help guys. i'm going to grab myself a lava cable tomorrow since i have some money laying around.

the tone control on my guitar is always all the way up, i always try to make it as bright sounding as i can. @egan damn, i'm DEFINITELY going to get myself a lava cable.

as far as cables go i have a few monster cables, they're all about 1-2 weeks old and they're 12 feet long. nothing in between the guitar and the interface either, i've tried an epiphone les paul, ec-1000, and a schecter tempest and they all sound really dark, even with new strings. i'll try...

i've tried guitars like an LTD EC-1000 and a schecter tempest, my playing isn't incredible but i did consider that being a problem too, i've also seen some people saying how plugging directly into the saffire pro 40 does still give you some pretty good sounding DI's

I've been looking for a drum set thats good for both recording and live shows that isn't to much. My budget is about $500-$600. I've found these 2 kits and I would appreciate some feedback on them or some other recommendations...
