Honestly, can we expect bands to make the same album over and over again? The only band that I know of that can get away with that is AC/DC. I haven't even heard this album yet but I'm willing to at least get it a fair chance, I'm interested on what direction they're taking their creativity...

I would recommend buying a DVD or something that at least shows you proper hand technique (yes, it does matter how you hold the sticks), then moves onto drum rudiments such as singles, doubles, paradiddles, etc. I practice on pads as well, and use bass drum pedal pads so I can still work my feet.

Have you guys considered www.Warmoth.com? I used to work there.

Oh yeah, for the Vortex show I used Marksman beaters which come on the X-L2's. The AL-2's come stock with Sonic Hammers which I don't care for.
