I think the problem with the kick is mainly the dynamics.Furthermore, guitars could have more gain.Obviously, the song is totally lacking inspiration but it's been 20+ years since the latest cool metallica album

Hmmm i see what you mean, but i don't like low mids on bass (for metal) at all.Everything above 170hz has been filtered. No plugins on the guitars ;)

Basically the hard thing was to find a balance with the sub with the doublebass. Drums were recorded with an e-kit here's the drummer

I'm interested to buy drum samples in a cool price.Especially ones that include two microphones for the kick. Any suggestions?

Any cool sites you guys have to suggest that sell drum samples? The sticky thread about samples was main for free ones which are cool but i need to find some other's, especially with the kick being recorded with 2 mics. Cheers

Puritanical sounds outstanding...The mix is beyond imagination(keep in mind that many years have passed since then....) Slaughter of the soul drums sound sampled, and that's cool

Maybe it has to do with the bass or the picking/fingering style of the player. 5-string Ibanez Basses with Sansamp is my favourite sound.Bartolini pickups really work for that.

Of course it works with many bands. depending the material and of course the hi mid/treble that you will get from the bass guitar. I think it's always better to record with many mids and then scoop them if it sounds better.If the amp doesn't have mids, it might sound hollow.But if it has and...
