How about that Majesties - Vast Reaches Unclaimed album, old school melodic death metal. Saw it getting a fair bit of hype for sounding like early Gothenburg stuff, I like it.
1. Bathory - Twilight of the Gods
2. Iced Earth - Night of the Stormrider
3. Bolt Thrower - Warmaster
4. Metallica - Metallica
5. Paradise Lost - Gothic
Pretty varied short list there. I could have done 10, but it would have been adding stuff to make up the numbers. I think I'll be able to...
I'll give this a go. I'm sure my list will be less than 10. We're burying the Queen today so we've all got a bonus national holiday (just opened a beer) but I'll give it some thought tomorrow when I'm back at work.
I still check in on here regularly, shame the revival didn't last.
There's some good stuff in this thread. I remember adoring that Uaral album after Ken made a thread about it on RC. I probably haven't listened to it for 15 years though. Will give it a spin tomorrow.
Yeah I'd definitely say Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper, rather than Follow the Reaper and Hate Crew. Hatebreeder was the first Scandinavian metal albums I ever bought, along with some early In Flames.
Is that the one who was married? Sorry to hear about your loss. At least your father was able to leave you something.
I'm much the same, although slightly more concerned about nuclear destruction than I was a few weeks ago. Hopefully ~Neurotica is keeping safe. It's crazy what's going on.
These guys released a full-length last year which I only just noticed last week. The EP didn't really do a lot for me at the time (although I didn't give it much chance), but I'm enjoying this new one.
This is going to be a 2022 release, but whatever, new band The Halo Effect featuring Mikael Stanne, Jesper Stromblad and other notable former members of In Flames. The first song sounds much more DT than In Flames to me. It's alright I guess.
