Rock in Rio is freakin' amazing! Just picked it up and I can't believe how amazing it sounds in DTS. Feels like you're sitting there right in front of the amps!

2 suggestions: Sinergy: Kimberly Goss with Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom) on guitars. Sounds like power/death metal, influenced of course by Alexi's guitar work. Amaran: Lead singer sounds like Kimberly Goss, music is melodic death metal kinda like Arch Enemy.

They are listed as playing with In Flames and Sentenced here in San Francisco on Sept 16, and another dude said that they are listed on the roster for playing with the same lineup in Virginia on Sept 26, so it seems like yeah, Dark Tranquillity are coming!!!

You've got excellent taste! Ensifurem rules! Both Finntroll and Moonsorrow are similar to Ensiferum, and both are kickass too. If you like that style be sure to check out Kalmah and Insomnium as well. Check your PM!

They had an excellent show here in San Francisco as well. My brother managed to snag Chris Amott's guitar pick when he tossed it into the crowd. Always cool to end up with a souvenir of a kickass show.

Wanderingblade, I agree, clean vocals can be a huge pitfall. If someone doesn't know how to sing, you can really tell with clean vocals, and that's why I hate hearing clean vocals in a lot of current melodic death releases. Most death vocalists have shit clean voices and vocal skills...
