    evergrey / state of paralysis / piano / tab

    Hiya, I made tab of this song, I'm wondering if it's (near) correct. I haven't put it in normal music-script or tab yet, but anybody should be able to understand. Scale looks like B minor, notes are: B C# D E F# G A (B) I didn't include rythm yet. D4 E4 F#4 G4 F#4 (3x) D4 --...

    Ear Training

    I practice with www.prolobe.com (free) I can now tell C,D,E,F,G in 4 octaves altough I make mistakes. Difference between C,D,E are super easy for me now. I've been practicing for I think 4 total days (altough I stopped and so though) I can also tell notes together (as a chord), but I...

    Ear Training

    I just discovered prolobe.com, It's online, very easy. At first I tried the difference between C and D in different octaves (first level), I practiced that for half hour to 1 hour, after that I was abel to do it very well. After I practiced C,D and E in 4 octaves - I can now tell them...

    Someone help me!

    Against boredom: Openup Guitarpro and get the evergrey tabs. If you can't read notes yet you can see which keys you have to press. Practice the guitar riffs aswell. The piano has a bigger range of notes you can reach, so shouldn't be problem. In many evgrey songs the key take over. It's...

    Ear Training

    I sometimes listen to a track and try to play a long with it. I guess this can be seen as eartraining, as you try to find the notes on the guitar. It usually takes a lot of repeating of the song, when you listen to the drum you can hear the rythm and everything.. that is, if you are not...

    How do you make riffs?

    You can find some trashy riffs of me here: http://xope.sourceforge.net/frank/guitar/Rifs.ptb I'll try to get some chord playing of the net (or drum beat), burn on cd and then jam with it. It might work much better.

    alternate picking with guitar

    I couldn't play the petrucci exercises. It sounds false (not in any scale), it sounds shit and isn't fun. You can get there if you have much discpline, but if you are like me you want to do it by playing, not practicing. (after all practicing is what you do in schooltime ;-)) Use the paul...

    How do you make riffs?

    Just wondering. I always start by turning the metronome on at 60bpm or 80bpm. (very slow) Then I drum some rythm I like on my leg, and when I like it put it on the guitar. After that I try some things like powerchords and notes. I do not go away from the rythm, I try different things in it...

    Evergrey = Prog???????

    They are metal. It's like putting. let's say Vaughan in the category power-blues, heavy-blues, progressive-blues, black-blues or perhaps gothic-blues? Really.. what's the use... they are metal, and they rock. (they metal?) :)

    Evergrey = Prog???????

    Why power? Power-chords are in every metal genre's afaik, repeating notes are in death,trash and progressive metal aswell. I hear no soloish guitar walk on it that you often hear in power-metal songs (blind guardian for e.x.) I agree with you about trash. They have many rythm trash-like...
