    MagnusIII of Norway/ Legbiter

Agreed, he is truly a "larger than life"-character and the amount of battles he participated in (and won) during his lifetime is just amazing.

The Vikings - will AA fans be watching?

Ok I've seen the first 2 episodes now and I must say it's not bad! Like I suspected it's "hollywodised" i e dumbed down, and far from historically accurate, but many details aremore accurate than I would have expected. I don't think it claims to be entirely accurate either. That they "discover"...

The Vikings - will AA fans be watching?

Looks very hollywood-ised but could still be good I guess. I also very much like Byrne as an actor.

    Amon Amarth wine

On Gotland they still make oldschool vikingbeer. They call it Gotlandsdricka (drink): http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotlandsdricka my translation: Gotlandsdrink is a form of the older type of beer that was brewed in Scandinavia during the viking age and the early middle ages. Since hop...

    History or mythology?

Sorry, Jomsborg vikings seem to be historically confirmed that they existed, my bad. Still, there are a lot of things from the viking age we don't know for certain.
  14. F

    History or mythology?

Well the problem is they still don't actually know that much of what actually happened at the time. The contemporary sources are few and sparse and can't be trusted to be accurate. Take the battle of Svolder for example. Noone knows where Svolder is, or if the battle actually happened...
