Since when has drum replacment/triggers been around?

I wrote "how sad it is that we need these fckn samples so often to get a great sound" - did I write always? No. Guys, I'm not against sampling/replacing and I fully agree with your opinions. But do you really want to tell me that you are not happy when you record a good drummer who hits the...

I always thought how sad it is that we need these fckn samples so often to get a great sound nowadays. Ha ha so its great to hear that there are samples used on the black album too!

6505 Real + Sim comparison - the real thing must sound better!!

Oh yes of course :goggly:. Another thing why the comparisons suck anyway :-)

6505 Real + Sim comparison - the real thing must sound better!!

What other differences? You mean the " + higher presence"? I meant the impulse response which was recorded with higher presence (I found two Engl V30 impulses on this forum, basically the same just with different presence settings). Yeah I think a tone between both would be the best. But...

6505 Real + Sim comparison - the real thing must sound better!!

Ok, did some research :-) The tone was too fizzy - I think that was the main thing which made it sound thin. First, I tried the ENGL V30 + higher presence impulse response. I used the preamp out of the 6505 and then used Boogex to load the impulse. Second I just reamped again through...

6505 Real + Sim comparison - the real thing must sound better!!

Thanks :-) Maybe I should try this impulse thing with a Mesa response, just to see if I can get better results with it. Yeah, thats for sure. Playing a real amp is definitely more fun! Er.. didn't save the patch, but the settings were much different from the real amp's setting. Bass was max...

Yeah, I think you're right. Do you have any suggestions how I could improve the sound without getting a Mesa cab? :-) I could maybe try to dial in more bass and a bit more mids. Furthermore I should maybe use a second mic, if I don't do quad tracking..

But isn't the choise between Engl, Marshall and Mesa rather a matter of taste than quality? I mean, at least the Marshall V30 cab was used on countless great records, including Sneaps..

6505 Real + Sim comparison - the real thing must sound better!!

Thanks guys. Pickups are stocks pickups of an Epiphone Flying V, DI box was Palmer PAN02, reamping box RMP, post processing just a bit of multiband comp at 150Hz and a bandpass from 60Hz to 12k. Actually I was hoping to get some tips how I could improve the real thing... :-) Because -...

6505 Real + Sim comparison - the real thing must sound better!!

First at all I'd like to say hello, as this is my first post. Seems to be a great place :-) I've done a comparison between a 'real tone' and a simulated tone, mainly for strengthening my opinion that amp simulations suck. But now I'm a bit disappointed... because the simulation doesn't suck...
