Dude, yes. I have been waiting for this one. This whole album rules. They've put out 3 albums and all of them have been great. The back half is so strong, Napalm, Future Bird, Inside Your Fur. Ugh. Future PPUSA material no question.
imo these guys own the modern wuss rock game. No one does it better.
They may be a bit too soft for progpower but I feel like there's a lot of crossover appeal here with the Eclipse and JSS fans due to W.E.T. being a thing.
I've liked every song they've released so far but I agree that the guest spot for this doesn't really work for the song. But then I'm not a fan of guest spots on songs anyways. I feel like it's always contrived. It's all marketing.
Usually remasters just get shoved through brickwall compression and take the dynamics further out of the product for the sake of loudness. Hopefully these don't get that treatment.
My list ended up looking like this:
10. Freak Kitchen - Confusion to the Enemy
09. Tesseract - Sonder
08. Sevendust - All I See is War
07. Seventh Wonder - Tiara
06. Shattered Skies - Muted Neon
05. Distorted Harmony - A Way Out
04. Icefish - Human Hardware (I know its technically 2017 release...
That Dynazty sounds like what SHOULD have come after Sultans of Sin. They style-shifted dramatically after that album and I slept on the last 2 but this new one is feels like they're sliding back into that pocket. I'm diggin it.
There's so much to like about this album. There are some great chord changes, vocal harmonies, riffs and killer grooves all over this. Its pretty damn fantastic.
the album itself is much darker and heavier than the previous few. It has some really good riffs and a couple of those fantastic multi-layered vocal harmonies in Puzzle Box and Veil. The only problem with the album is that it's too short. Needs 2 more songs.
