    Which Pickups should I buy

Ok. Thanks for setting me straight on that.

    Which Pickups should I buy

Personally, I'd recommend staying away from anything solid state like the Spider's and going with a tube amp. It may be a bit more expensive but it will also sound a lot better. And as far as your question about pickups, I recommend either the Seymour Duncan Blackouts or the Seymour Duncan Dave...

Flight 666 audio CD. I have it!

Agreed. I'm really looking forward to hearing some new material from them...

    Best hardware: pickup suggestions?

I'd personally go with Seymour Duncans over EMGs. The Duncans always sound better and are about half the price. I recently had the same decision to make and went with the Duncan AHB-1 Blackouts over the 81/60 combo and I haven't been disappointed.

    Official buying advice thread

I don't know a lot about basses either but I've heard good things about the ESP LTD basses and I've always felt that they put out quality stuff (as far as guitars go anyway) so that might be worth looking at

    EMGs vs. Seymour Duncan Blackouts

Thanks for the advice, you make a very good point. I did decide to go with the Blackouts and just installed them Friday night. So far I've been very pleased with them. Yeah I am Scottish (well partially anyway). Unfortunately, I can't afford to buy another guitar right now otherwise I'd take...

Thanks for the opinions guys... I decided to go with the Duncan Blackouts (thanks Petrovsk) and I'm gonna install them tonight...

Ok then... I had gotten the impression you were looking for them somewhere... sorry about that

They wrote them from scratch from what I remember... You can find places to download those Maiden covers if you look hard enough, maybe try a torrent download or something like that.

Yeah, it's a really good cover too. They also covered "Space Station #5" from the S/T album and "Communication Breakdown" by Led Zeppelin, both of which are also really good. As I remember, they made all of them available on the "Best of the B-Sides" CD a little while back... Unfortunately, the...

 Same here... DLR was good but I always felt Sammy was a much better vocalist. In fact, I felt Sammy did a better job singing the songs from the original Van Halen albums than Dave did. But that's just my opinion.

    EMGs vs. Seymour Duncan Blackouts

I've recently decided to put a new set of pick-ups in one of my guitars and was looking at an active set. I already have EMGs in one of my other guitars and I like them, but I thought about trying out a set of the Blackouts. So I was wondering if anyone knew how they compared to the EMGs as far...

    Guitar Volume pedals?

I'm pretty sure that has to do with the amount of resistance the pot has (and yes it has a pot in it)... basically how much it will dampen the signal from the guitar.

    Chickenfoot

Chickenfoot is a great album. And from the "making of" videos I've seen online, it seems like the guys all got along really well and had a blast making it... Hopefully that means they'll be around for awhile.
