Ahh yes Morningrise was recommended by a friend, I managed to find it cheap and said what the hell its rare to find there albums here CHEAP! Went straight to The night and the silent water. Blew me away, it's still one of my favourite songs.

GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR This band is the most creative group of people I have ever heard make music. For anyone who hasnt heard their stuff; They combine famous speeches, their own lyrics and mix samples from tons of shit, combined with the 9 members who play different instruments...

There is no original creation, everyone is influenced by someone or something musically or not. You cant expect any different, bands can create new styles of music that differ from their old albums but there will always be ties back to their begginings.

I've always found Opeth to be a band that strived creatively, always stretching boundries to create music. They can be classified in many genres, but as soem great person said, " There are two types of music, Good and Bad". and I am in full agreement with that statement.

Well thanks, you people certainly are nicer than some of the guys on the Opeth board but what can I say. You've got me started in a good direction, thanks again.

Hey any one on this board like Godspeed You Black Emporer. If so, do you know of any good sites for informatioin, I listened to a few songs, they seem awesome.

Hey sorry for being ignorant but ( don't flame me ) I've heard alot of positive things about 'Nevermore', I'm just wondering, could you recommend some of there more popular 'hit' songs if you will. Just looking for something to get me started.

Don't try and classify us into one group, just because we're relatively new to the board, doesn't mean we are uninformed about Opeth, and for new fans, give them a break, they are supporting a band THEY JUST got into. You can't expect them to buy all the cd's at once and know all about them.
