Honestly, I hate EMGs because of what they do to palm mutes. They even out the sound so much that its like there's a compressor completely annihilating the low end. It CAN work great in some instances, but for less cookie-cutter music, it tends to make the guitars sound really unrealistic and...

Never tried the Blackouts, but I have a strong dislike for EMGs. That being said, they sound phenomenal in my Eclipse II. Everything else I've had them in? Not so much.

Well crap, didn't realize you were looking at the +. If that's the case, I'd definitely go with the Recto, considering you already have a 5150. The 6505+ is a cool amp, but it's even more similar to the Mark IV - it's smoother and less aggressive. The cleans ARE improved, but not so much...

It's a toss-up for me, honestly. Both amps are nearly polar-opposite in terms of high gain tones. The 5150/6505 is the tightest and has more of a high mid sizzle than a Recto does. Compared to your Mark IV, it's more similar than the Recto would be. I would never consider buying a 3-channel...

Hmm... X50 has been my go-to sim for quite a while and I was hesitant to upgrade to Recabinet 4, because I rarely use 3... but after hearing this comparison, I think it might just be worth the $30, considering I haven't bought X50 V2 yet.

You'll have to go used, the Z series has been discontinued for a while. Unless you can find a store that still has some in stock, you're never going to find one new again.

The Savage, Blackmore and SE are the only Engls in their line that I'd ever spend money on. Here in the states, the price difference between the Blackmore and Savage is very marginal and I'd probably lean in favor of the Savage. Can you buy from the US? I'd suggest going on Rig-Talk, The Gear...

So I guess this means I'm never getting my $15.55 back that I sent him for the "pre-order" of his "plugin." Oh well, at least it wasn't $800 like the guys buying the real compressor :(

I've owned, or extensively tried, just about every high gain amp known to man (not even kidding...), and the amp that I keep coming back to is the 5150. Sure, there are better sounding amps out there, but they're all 3-4 times more expensive (used) and they surely don't sound 3-4 times better...

WOW! I've never seen a satin Carvin, these are amazing! :D Carvin's been putting out some crazy stuff lately, the tops they have in stock and out of this world.

Would've been better if they just kept the Strat shape. $2k though? You can buy some great guitars for $2k...
