Nevermore is a fucking awesome band, and i try to enjoy the awesome riffing of loomis, but i cant ever bring myself to listen to a full album because of warrel dane. I dont think he is really either good or shit, but his vocals just seem to get annoying to me.

Trivium is brutal.

None so vile by cryptopsy, so fucking brutal. Suffocation pierced from within and malevolent creation's retribution are just tasty old school death metal. Excellent riffing, decent production.

Also dude, as far as basic equipment and gear goes you will need a mic and p.a for jamming. I would recommend a shure sm58 mic to get you started, cant go wrongwith these for metal, and probably just a cheap behringer pa or something to get you through band practices.

My advice would be to not worry too much about recording for youtube. At the most film yourself on a normal video camera doing a cover through a pa. I think the best thing you can do to get in bands is advertise then get yourself out there and do some tryouts and rehearsals with bands. I...

I have to say that drum machines should be used for nothing more than one man bands producing music from their homes. I also think its not a bad idea for structuring songs. However in my personal opinion, i would only use one if i couldnt get my hands on a real drummer.

Personally i have never really understood what stoner metal is. Is it more just focused on the lyric content etc or is it actually defined by the music aswell? BTW I find most metal great to get whacked to!

Vader- necropolis. To be honest i wasnt familiar with vader before this album, a mate got me on to them and this is the first album ive heard. Been blasting it for the last couple of days, really cool stuff.
