Yes, this is what I was really trying to ask. Are these lyrics just for shock value or do they reall reflect Mikael's thoughts? His lyrics for Opeth are so well-written and intelligent. These are just dripping with hate and disgust.

why not just direct your anger at the christians instead of disrespecting something they hold dear. As Ghandi said (I'm paraphrasing here). I don't have a problem with Christ, its the christians I have a problem with. On behalf of any christian who has hurt any of in any way, I'm sorry...

I'm not really a fan of bloodbath per se, but I enjoy opeth quite a bit. Mikael's lyrics with opeth are very intelligent. I guess I just don't get all the gore/anti-christian stuff in bloodbath. Is it meant to be taken seriously or all in "good fun"?

Opeth's lyrics are not anti-christian...but they're dark. And there's no need to be rude. I was just asking a question. And I'm not a noob.

if opeth is not a satanic band, why would they have an inverted cross as part of their logo?

On the old Opeth logo, there is a horizontal line that crossed the "p". Is the meant to be an upside down cross?

I know there's been a lot of discussion about this track. But I'm still not sure what its about. I've heard everything from an estranged relationship, abortion/miscarriage, to getting rid of the judaio/christian religion (I don't think its about this at all). What are some of your thoughts

Thanks for the link. The Leper Affinity and Blackwater Park (the song) seem to be connected someway. I've always wondered what the Leper Affinity is about. Seems to me the narrator is death or nature talking to someone who's dead and buried. Does anyone else have any ideas?
