This is sick stuff thread starter. It's late at night so I'm not very observation, but the only thing that i dislike is the sample you have used for your bass drum, it's too hollow for my liking, but whatever.

i got nothing against taking lessons and acknowledge that a good teacher can help, it's just that from my experience most teachers suck. i've not been playing guitar for long. i've had my guitar for a while, but muck around it once in a blue moon. this is my second go at making a riff.

yea for sure. it's just that most teachers (from my experience) don't look at what you need. most have a routine or a set of lessons they know how to teach and they'll try to put you through their routine of lessons, not regarding what you want/need to progress. my little riff lacks an...

my experience is with drum teachers, so i don't know about guitar teachers. but drum teachers started off by teaching me beats........why? why wouldn't they teach me techniques instead? cuz it's easier to teach someone a bunch of easy beats than to teach him techniques. it also slows him down...

ok, cheers guys i'm actually a drummer, and i took lessons with 2 different teachers. taking lessons was quite a bad experience. how is music going to advance if everyone is being tought to be the same? i think it's about experimentation, but obviously getting the basics is good--but again...
