LACUNA COIL - Nothing Stands In Our Way (Full cover)

Maybe they play it different live than in the studio, but in the verses for instance the cover loses the melody.

LACUNA COIL - Nothing Stands In Our Way (Full cover)

Here's my take on it. I haven't listened to the original song before mixing, and now that I listen to it, the cover is very different in melody and chord progression. But still, thanks for the multitracks.

Looking to have a Celtic Metal album mixed, interested?

It's also missing a bass track... And the whistle track is out of tune by three semitones... And I have no idea what's going on with all those different processed and unprocessed ambient kicks etc.

How are you promoting your Band or Project in 2018

I'm just about to begin the process of promoting as well. Anyone care to start a list of current Metal news/reviews sites and blogs? I haven't been browsing those for a long time and all I can recall are MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Metal-Temple and Blabbermouth. Would be nice to know smaller...

How many limiters in you master chain?

Just one. Usually have some kind of console saturation before, but nothing too heavy, I don't like clipping because it takes away the punch.

Your favorite string brand and why.

Cleartones. Sound good, feel good, and can last several months, which is the most important, because I hate restringing.

FREE "Monster Kit" (Wav, Trigger, Kontakt, Drumagog) from Victory Drum Co!

I really love those toms. Thanks!

Life's beautiful, but not for my last client... (rate his depression)

Yeah, I thought that adding life to the genre seemed like a paradox too... but if you listen to the best bands of the genre, they actually tend to be very livid (thinking Forgotten Woods - The Curse of Mankind and the Silencer album). I'm not sure what processing you used, but I like using...

    Grunge production

Just finished mixing this song, which I made pretty spontaneously in a week. Not sure how exactly to label it, but it has a lot of inspiration from 90's Heavy Rock and Grunge, and I went for that edgy, rough sound. Oh, and it's in Hebrew, which I hope won't weird you out too much. I'd like to...

Rate my progressive-y mix! (Stem upload soon)

The kick and snare are way too loud, particularly for an element of the song that isn't the most important, and there's generally not much of a feeling of space or dynamics in the mix, which makes it unpleasant to listen to. Guitars sound mostly good but shrill at times. Could use some more...

Life's beautiful, but not for my last client... (rate his depression)

The mix feels like it lacks punch and life, though generally good. I like the vocals and how the distortion and reverb stick to them without getting overbearing like most vocals in this genre.

    Studio Monitors

Thanks for the replies. After another round of comparisons at a different store I settled for the JBLs and I really like them so far. Very smooth and balanced.

    Studio Monitors

Up until now I've been primarily mixing with headphones, mostly because I couldn't treat my room properly. But I want to take the next step. I've checked the Yamaha HS5, JBL LSR305, and the Genelec 8030B, all 5" (the first two had particularly glowing reviews). I was very disappointed by what I...
