In My Time of Need...I'd gotten GR and Damnation when I was curious about Opeth, and listened to that and was an instant Opeth fan. That or Ghost of Perdition. Nevertheless I was hooked. :notworthy

What I think you're referring to by best is it being the best-produced Opeth album to date - some may say polished (as Mike as said in the past) but I think there's absolutely nothing overdone on the record - not one second pales in comparison to anything else on the record, it is in a sense...

Once you break down a lot of the chords in Opeth songs you see how creative Mikael is with using identical chords in different ways, it's really cool & fun to play. I'm currently loving the play the one during the Lotus Eater when they break down into the "You're a moth too close to the fire"...
