The best part about doing everything within the band = Complete control over every aspect of the music.
The worst part is that things take much longer because its really hard to reach a finishing point when the project is at your fingertips every day.

Yes.. I would recommend Roxul brand.. I have heard its safer.. If you plan on placing these in an area that you spend a lot of time in Its good to wrap them well. Make sure you wear breathing protection when handling them.

Sounds like computer interference, most likely coming from the firewire/usb. Installing a high quality PCI express firewire port might mix this.. This can also come from cheaper interfaces that aren't wired as well as more expensive ones.
Eh.. You aren't missing out on much.. Aside from playing smoothly blackmachines sound super thin and frail. With that kind of money there are plenty of choices that sound and play much better
Its hard to find a "practical" book on mastering.. They usually speak in generalities.
I have yet to find an up to date mastering book that is catered to the digital era.
Howdy! I love my unit also. The preamps are really nice. Haven't had any problems with it so far aside from latency problems and driver issues. I think as time goes on we will see more adequate vista x64 and Win7 drivers come out.
Just want to see if a lot of you get your mixes at a good volume during the mixing stage or more when you apply the limiter/maximizer and other master bus goodies during the end of the process.
