    Crimson or Crimson 2

I think it's quite heavy to have a decent comparison made between these two albums, as crimson 2 wouldn't even exist in case of it's prequel not being recorded. In my humble opinion, they both make one awesome story of phantastic depth, which no other metal- or rockmusician has ever come up...

    Harvest

There's one pretty good tab at http://metaltabs.com/tab/555/ It's also one of my favourite Opeth songs, directly followed by The Drapery Falls, which was the first song I ever heard of the Blackwater Park album and it completely smashed my brains out. Especially the heavier part of the...

Help with the lyrics of "Harvest"

BTW: I got this idea when it happend by chance while I was listening to Porcupine Tree's "Heartattack in a lay-by" and realised how beautiful the backround vocals came out just then ;).

Help with the lyrics of "Harvest"

All I did was plug the Cinch-Cable from my Stereo only half-way in, which made the lead-vocals and the lead-guitar almost silent, the rest of the recording pretty low, but had a focus on all the backround-stuff. It was quite easy to understand him sing these lines then. Believe me, it really...

    Porcupine Tree, anyone?

Both videos are available in acceptable quality on porcupinetree.com (if I remember correctly, might have also been on some fansite linked there..., maybe just ask in their forums or on their mailinglist). Very nice work especially on "Blackest Eyes". Another good hint is the video on "Hello"...

    Porcupine Tree, anyone?

I don't think there is a Live DVD out from "In Absentia". There is one Audio DVD out, containing the standard album in better quality or something, PT are still working on a video DVD, being released someday summer 2004 if I remember correctly.

    Porcupine Tree, anyone?

Yes there is some simnilarity, but the riffs are still different. The sound of both albums is all equal, that's right. You can definatly hear who got his hands on the mixing and the production ;).

    Porcupine Tree, anyone?

I first heard of Steven Wilson as the producer of Opeth's Blackwater Park when it came out and was all fascinated by this masterpiece of modern metal. Several month later I crushed into "In Absentia" and was literally in tears while listening to "Trains", which is still one of the most...

    Prog Rock

What about Dream Theater? Maybe a little more heavy than the bands that have been mentioned before, but definatly one of the greatest progressive bands these days. Anyway, somebody should kill Mister James La Brie...

Which one is the best Moonspell album??

Why do so many people in here dislike "The butterfly FX"? I came across Moonspell listening to "Sin(pecado)" at a friends' when it was released and immediatly fell in love with their gloomy but chilling sounds. In my humble opinion, "The butterfly FX" is one of the most honorable albums this...
