Metal Mix (SSD & POD Farm)

I used EMG pickups on rhythm and Duncans on lead. AS far as the toms go, I hear it too. This song had to be finished by today so I will have to go with what I have. I plan on doing the toms differently for their other songs. Thanks everyone.

I think I might have fixed the high freq problems here but I haven't gotten to anything else. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4851007/BlackBurn%20Vox%20Fix%202.mp3

For the electric drums I used Reason. I plan on remixing the vocals and fixing the toms. I think I might try SSD for the toms and try to re-EQ them. For the vocals I will try to throw C4 on it to compress and limit the higher freqs. I hear the highs too much when I A/B with stuff that I like...

Metal Mix (SSD & POD Farm)

Updated Mix (14 Jul 2010) Fixed vocal issues with high freq, slammed the DeEsser a little more http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4851007/BlackBurn%20Vox%20Fix.mp3 Not too much of a difference but I got rid of that nasty high freq I got another private msg asking for my settings in full. I will share...

Yeah I could have done better getting them to keep the tightness together. The band is called April Sommers from Southern New Jersey USA.

    Check my mix

Start over, the vocals are great as Matt said but the drums sound fake a f***. Guitars have too much mid range, your a missing the lower and higher end because of it.

Just gave that idea a shot Chris and didn't notice any big difference. It just seems to me that the highs are a little too high. I will lower that on the EQ or add a C4 to it.

    Hardcore Song

Either your overheads or your hat mic is too high. Guitars need some more ballZ. I like the kick though. Kinda sounds like American Me haha but pretty good mix considering this is your >10 post. If you ever pass through New Jersey and need to record let me know.

Metal Mix (SSD & POD Farm)

Guitars are sort of quad tracked in the sense that the two guitarists played two takes each and I have them panned 100 L 45L 45R 100 R. This band didn't use synth in this song but some others have it. As far as the vocals having too much highs; I have a desser on em and I really cut them too...
