Black outs have arrived!
Now...This is my first time restringing using locking tuners...How much slack do you need for this? I have heard some say none and some say a few millimeters...Thoughts?
Thanks everybody for the advice! I have decided to give the blackouts a shot after hearing a fellow LTD SC-607B user get a great sound from them. If by some chance I dont like them I know some people who would buy them from me and I will use that money to try out the 707's.
I will let you know...
I have the stock 81-7's in my Alder bodied guitar, and the sound is lacking in the low mid area imo. A few other LTD SC-607B have noted the same thing and I know that they have switched over to Blackouts or the 707 with better results.
Basically I am not happy with the tone I am getting and...

Thanks for the advice guys! I will just keep the highs down and the gain down and see what I can get. Maybe even boost the low mids up a bit to warm it up a little.
Sorry for the late reply. just returned from the Soundwave Festival (Anthrax, Slayer, Metallica, Linkin Park etc..)
Hi guys wondering if any fellow SC-607B players in this forum could give me some advice on dialing a decent tone for it with Pod Farm or the POD HD?
Everything I end up with sounds too bright and thin...Oh yeah, I am using the stock EMG 81-7 pick ups. Do not have the cash at the moment for...
