New album Foregone out February 2023

That's a fair and balanced take, I respect it. The band has been my favourite since my brother introduced me to them when SOAPF came out (I was 13 at the time). I've had a rough time with new releases since then, Foregone aside, but I like the entire catalogue (except Battles, fuck that album)...

Yeah it is short. To be fair I've seen the band like 7 times now, I'm at the point where I don't really care what they play, if they play 1 or 2 songs I've not seen before then I'm happy. Since the pandemic they've been at another level live. Honestly killing it. When they come back to the UK...

In the bands defense, when touring a part of the world you don't hit often, doing "the hits" and songs off of the most recent album is probably the best approach - whether it's a good set is still subjective of course.

Fairly similar to last year's summer festival set. Pretty decent set, yes some more older stuff would have been nice, but they have so many popular songs that to fit in proper old stuff they're going to upset someone. I wouldn't want to be responsible for making In Flames' setlist. You'll never...

The it's no good cover is fun. Don't care for the other two, production is too sterile and polished for a start. Anders has posted on his Instagram that the new album is done. I did see some pictures of Chris in the studio playing guitar so at the very least we should get some more tasty solos

DOTL is good, but it was very safe and a bit too "yes this exactly what I expected". MOTU isn't perfect either IMO but the peaks are far higher. Conspire to Deceive, Between Directions, A Death That Becomes Us and The Burning Point are all absolute bangers

It's a complicated one. Granted a lot of the big bands right now are complete ass (BMTH, Bad Omens, Slaughter to Prevail, Motionless in White, Falling in Reverse to name just a few) there also loads of bands absolutely KILLING it. Here's a few just off the top of my head; Sylosis, Rivers of...

Maybe it's the guitar nerd in me but I have always found the "In Flames downtuned after Clayman" comments you see everywhere online quite amusing. Objectively speaking in flames has always been downtuned, playing 2 steps below E standard in C. They went from C standard exclusively to a mix of C...

That's not really a shock. Foregone generally had a decent mix, so as long as they aim for a similar standard I'm not displeased. Just less processing on Anders' cleans please

I would like to hope not! There is a huge chasm in-between the quality of Battles and Foregone so I don't think they'd do something that bad again. The band has basically admitted in interviews that some of the albums before Foregone weren't great. If Foregone is the bar for new music in happy...

New album Foregone out February 2023

Hello all, been a hot minute! Feels like we're not too far off of IF recording or releasing new tunes, What's the general mood of everyone heading into new music? For me, if they can build on the big step that Foregone was, but hey it produced by someone else, then we could get a really...

I've also been messing around this weekend trying to learn some of the fun bits on the new album. Ignore me badly trying to work out the rhythm guitar behind Chris's solo because I'm shit, but Meet Your Maker has some really fun riffs to play in it, the verse is really groovy If you can get it...

Moment for me is a great album... If I'm in the mood for it. If not, I find it boring. Hard to explain really. Has some songs I really like, but it's also a little boring. Great artwork though. For me nothing will touch Character and Atoma, to me they are head and shoulders above the rest of the...

The more I listen to Cynosure the more I think it's a really good song. Chorus could have been more dynamic, but it is enjoyable. The rest of the song is just amazing, in my opinion. Bleeding out and Dialogue are really the tracks that stand out for me as sub par

I learned how to play the entirety of foregone Pt. 1 very quickly as I love the riffs, I have the whole song down except the solos which I straight up can't play (I shared a clip of me trying it a bit a few pages back). Also learned most of SOSD and TGD. can't wait to learn some more of the good...
