Hey /b/ros my drummer just took over a studio, he's kinda new at production and we're hoping for some solid advice to get him started particularly in mixing. Any thoughts on this mix?? I'll put up the other demo if requested but I wanna start with just one.

Damn thats a badass song dude!! The chorus is soooo sick. I agree the cleans should come up a scoach. Other than that it sounds pretty solid mix-wise.

Fucking...EPIC! The music is sick and i usually don't get into deathcore. Guitars sound a little harsh to me but maybe that's cause i don't listen to this style much. Maybe a little bit dryer, djentier tone might help?

it would be kind of fun to do a blind test...i honestly think it sounds legit the way it is but now it's got me curious, haha.

128 is a low bitrate but i find it hard to believe that people can tell the difference i mean i've read up on this and most forums will usually agree that its borderline impossible to tell at 128 or higher. then again theres always a couple guys in there insisting they can tell the difference...

Yea that was a pretty rough mix. Here's the updated mix. As far as the guitar tone I didn't use DI's or a reamp box so I'm stuck with what I've got all i can do is post process...

Just finished recording our first demo with my new band. I tracked it in the drummers garage. He has a Custom set from Precision, with Meinl cymbals. I have an Engl Blackmore, with 4x12 Mesa Rectifier straight slant cab. Bass was tracked in Pod Farm. Any advice or comments?
