SinMix Razor Sin Tube Amp - First Look!

Genius idea to have the Maxon & Noise gate within. Sounds great.

Is there a such thing as the "best" IR Loader?

I like SIR2 a lot of for finalizing new IRs, particularly when I'm trying to use multiple cabinets and I want to widen them a bit or widen a reverb effect or something. It seems to do more than simply widen, but also balances the EQ curve for my left and right ear so if I was a little off due to...

Try my Motherload Speaker Sim Impulses

Anyone still have these or other speaker sim impulses? Link is invalid now.

Practice Time05 - KSE The Arms of Sorrow - 23 DI files for fun

Still my favorite project here...I was trying to get the DIs again to try with some new gear and Dropbox has an error when I try to get it again even though I'm logged in and what not. UPDATE: Works when I save it to my Dropbox first. Good enough for me.

    Guitar tone / overall sound

The heavier guitars could use a bit of presence around 4k. Sometimes I try to go by the cab sim settings on tube amps which hi pass quite a bit, boost around 350Hz and 2700Hz and THEN decide what's going on. I usually go through the typical 80, 240, 750, 2200, 6600 frequencies from there bc I...

Can you give me tips or positive criticism? =)

On the drums, you could use something like PSPMixSaturator to give them more depth & set them in the mix more. I sometimes use Soundtoys Radiator and Waves SSL Compression on the drums to liven them up and glue them together so to speak. Waves SSL also has some great vocal presets, and Soundtoys...

    Line 6's new amp is

My .02, put a line 6 through a decent speaker, you might be doing ok and not need all the bells and whistles. Record it direct, you will need better speaker emulation, etc. This'll be ok for people that like to jam over music and who knows until there's some actual recordings what to expect...

Nevermore Narcosynthesis DI's + Backing Tracks!

Here's a reamp through the Randal Solar plugin & some impulses from the MICKRICH_IR_PACK.

Nevermore Narcosynthesis DI's + Backing Tracks!

This is my favorite reamp project ever. I actually listen to this version once in a while along with my regular music mp3s because the whole band rocks and dare I say this version is better than the original IMHO. But I do love Nevermore/Dane. I even saved my original reamp. Might give it...

    My best ever IR (57,201,API)

Thanks, I look forward to each of your IRs. So easy to work with heavy sounds.

Do these guitars sound too digital?

Sometimes I make a notch around 6.8kHz and widen that band until it sounds just right. Sometimes you have to go and boost a few frequencies and cut others. A lot of tube preamps use a curve that (at least registers) as a hi pass around 100, gradually climbing to 350Hz, falling until about 2.8kHz...

Some mixing practice for you - Breaking Benjamin "Diary of Jane"

No man it really needed the vocals, had to use a few more plugins & automation and spent more time on the vocals than I thought but I like the Ozzy kinda vocal sound that happened from all the effects and things I had going on multiple busses.

Best amp sim for solo - blind test (lets vote!!)

    A. The others are too "fat" or low mid/full. This one lets the rest of the song have some space and is by far the best IMHO. Has dynamics in it the others just don't. I'd work with that "amp sim" if it even is one haha

LE456 vs Revalver MKIII - A quick comparison clip

Sorry to double post on this thread but I've been using KeFir for the longest time and I got SIR2 and it's less plastic sounding up in the highs. Some of the impulses I made don't need any EQ in SIR2 and in KeFir the levels always seemed off or something strange sometimes. I wish it were cheaper...

LE456 vs Revalver MKIII - A quick comparison clip

It's really tough choosing a modeler because each has it's strongpoints, kind of like different preamps, power amps, cabinets, and mics. In this realm, it doesn't matter what you use to get there, you should try and find the best feeling & sounding plugin for you. The more I play around with...
